Minotaurus (2004)

Minotaurus is a controlled experiment that tests the user’s sense of direction. Users are asked to learn a map of maze and then navigate through the same in 3D. The software logs all movements which can later be analyzed and played back.

Context The application was part of a student project for the lecture “Forschungsmethoden” (research methods) given by the Department of Psychology at RWTH Aachen University. The project denotes the first step in learning how to conduct controlled experiments. Our study intended to explore gender effects in terms of task completion time.
